The Old Lumberyard - Phase I Underway

View from Church Street towards the North and West Shed as well as the outdoor gathering space.

If you’ve found yourself driving in downtown Truckee lately, you may have noticed a few changes along Church Street.  The Old Lumberyard project is officially in full swing. The Town of Truckee Planning Commission approved Phase I of the proposed plan to redevelop and adaptively reuse the existing Truckee-Tahoe Lumber Company (TTLC) site in the Railyard Master Plan area.

This two-phase project will serve as a legacy project for the Cross Family, a family that now spans five generations in the Truckee community.  CF Holding Company LLC, the company redeveloping the space, seeks to leave an enduring mark on the Truckee community for many more decades to come.

The existing TTLC office/retail building was demolished to make room for an outdoor space including a mix of outdoor seating, fire pits, lawn, public art, and a small stage all to serve as an informal gathering place.  Redevelopment of the North and West Sheds will contain commercial space suitable for general office, retail, and food and beverage use.  The project is currently accepting tenant applications for Phase I.

The Old Lumberyard seeks to be a much-anticipated extension of the historic downtown Truckee.  A Grand Opening date for Phase I is set for September 2023.
